Fitted with two 998cc Riley Elf engines, the car was only just finished before the team left for Italy and had barely been tested. The large air scoops weren't enough to keep the engines cool and so the Targa Twini was plagued with overheating (and many other mechanical problems) and forced to stop several times on the course during the early laps to refill the radiator. The car finished 27th, two places behind a standard Mini also entered by BMC and two laps down on the winning Porsche. It was a great failure for the project, but just think what it might have been if they had succeed: the introduction of 4-wheel drive in Rally some 20 years before the Quattro, yet another automotive revolution that would have been started by the Mini! This is a standalone car, to instal just extract it into your Mini Cooper S folder. The Twini is not the best car around to drive in GTL, but I though this effort deserved to be remembered since it's the only mentionable race this car took, even if with little success. The Twini James_1 made is based on the very recent recreation built by Jeff Lane, one of the many unofficial replicas made emulating the prototypes from the 60s. As so, the sidevents look much different from the BMC's car, but I preferred to leave them as they are.
