After the illustrious racing careers of the mk1&2 Cortinas, especially in Lotus guise, the mk3's were somewhat overshadowed by the sportier Escorts and Capris. With no real high performance version available in Britain racers looked elsewhere for potential race winners. But dig a little deeper and you'll find the humble mk3 did indeed appear in various events. The Avon Tour of Britain had mk3's entered in both '73 and '74 and in circuit racing Bill Vero and DJ Noel Edmonds campaigned 2000GT's. More recently a V6 powered South African XLE was raced by Martin Doherty so at least there were a few racing mk3's to build...This has been far too long in the making but at last it's done. It wont be the fastest thing on the track but it should be fun to drive so enjoy...
